防泼水，又称为拨水，英文为“WATERRESISTANT”，绝大多数情况下靠涂层实现，并且通常在面料外层。它是指织物表面拥有很低的表面张力，水滴落下之后，相对于织物表面的张力而言是很大的、促使水滴自身表面收缩而呈球状无法铺散开来，因此迅速以水珠的形式从织物上滑落。防溅水具有持久防水的特征，物理及化学性质稳定，“防水”产品通常不会由于洗涤和长时间使用而失效。
